A couple days ago, my friend Hannah and I went adventuring and took photographs around this old, broken down house. She entered the first photo above ( the rest, somewhat crappy ones are mine ) in a photography contest where the prompt was "broken". The whole process was a really liberating experience for me. We kind of used the house as this symbol for all of our problems and woes. With each little movement I made trying to show that I was a "broken person," I realized just how true that was. But at the same time, I was reminded that I am small and insignificant, thus, my problems are too. I've lost sight of that recently, spending all of my hours with a heavy heart. When in reality, I have so much to be joyous about.

  1. I always seem to forget how much I have to be joyous about and then it's always the smallest things (like in your instance the broken house) that brings me back, I love how God works like that though. I'm excited about work crew because I always end up getting reminded of what all I have to be joyous about when I go there. On a totally different note... Welcome to the blogging world. Hannah told me that you had a blog so I thought I would check it out :)

  2. You are so right, Lane. Is so amazing in the way God reaches out. I'm also excited for work crew 1. because I love to serve, 2. because I'm excited to get to know you!
    Thanks for checking it out!

  3. Yeah I'm looking forward to getting to know you to. I also love to serve especially when it's at such a beautiful place! It will be fun :)
